Pregnant Midwife Hippo!

We have a new genre of Sock Creature, which I just adore!

Meet our pregnant hippo. This particular lady, was purchased by a midwife, so she needed a satchel complete with a Picard Horn, a couple of muzzies and a weighing sling. Her pregnant belly has a blue button stitched on, as she's having a boy. ;)

She was so fun to make!

Crafternoon Tea Market!!

 What an experience! We attended our first ever market on Saturday, and it was scary!
How much stock do I need?
How do I display my items?
How much change will we need?
And the big question, "will I look like an idiot in amongst all these pros!"

I need not have spent all friday night dreaming about worst case scenarios, it went really well. Everyone there was so friendly and so helpful to us as newbies. (Thanks especially to Sickly Sweet and Varnia!)



My Koro purchase...

Koro Accessories was a source of huge temptation for me, as was Bitsy Frog.

So we didn't sell much but it was very educational. Seeing what people are drawn to, and where our gaps are - for instance, not much for boys! So watch this space as we design some super-hero masks and capes. ;)

Headband Photo Shoot

Today we went out on a small adventure! We put an advert on FB asking for models. (Being an all-boy household means I'm a bit short of pretty models!).

What fun! I've been creating different designs and getting them ready, so it was very satisfying seeing them all look so fabulous on heads. :)

I started out with one basic design - the Petal headband.

Then added this one (a personal favourite - the Box headband).

My headbands are mostly made with a Bamboo blend, so they all stay fixed on the head really well, are very comfortable, and shrink back to original size with each wash. They are all adjustable sizing too.

Wrist Warmers!

These are a fabulous design for mothers or anyone who is needing to wash hands regularly. Just push them up, rather than having to remove them fully.

These are made from 100% machine washable wool. Yay! There are plenty of colours available for these - get in touch with your measurements and colour desires and we'll see what we can do.

Super Piglet!

This is a very special, much-loved Piglet.
So loved, that his torso was falling to parts.
We made him a new velveteen shirt and pants, and sewed it to him, thereby keeping his insides, where they ought to be - inside him.
Piglet's bff has been having trouble sleeping all night long too. For all manner of typical childhood worries. In a burst of inspiration, We made him a 'Super' cape!
I received a gorgeous phone call from his owner thanking me so very much for fixing his friend, and inviting me to his little party he was having in his honour. Awww!

Anyway, the punchline is: This dear boy now sleeps all night again because Super Piglet is trained to deal with his worries. Yay!

Keepsake Bear - Commissioned

Here's our first commissioned Keepsake Bear. I just love him! I think stripes really make these guys.

Mr L comes with his own blankie, and his baby's initial on his heart.

How cute is he?!

He is made from a pair of sox sent to us on the birth of our first child, from a friend of my husbands. I always loved the sox, and Sam wore them alot.

For NZD $15.00, I'll create you a teensy little Keepsake Bear from your babies socks. If you would like accessories for him, I can repurpose baby clothing into blankies, ties etc to complete his nostalgic look (this would be a small added cost).

He's tiny, cute and cuddly. Our little 18 month old adores this one, and squeaks away crooning to it.
